Domestic Partner Enrollment and Sick Bank Donation Launches

Domestic Partner Enrollment 

UVM HR is running a special open enrollment period July 25th, and through August 25th to add domestic partners to your health insurance. Qualifying children and/or dependents of a domestic partner may also be eligible. Those who apply and are approved during this period will receive coverage effective August 16. We are thrilled to have pushed for and won this option in our contract for UVM staff, and to have negotiated with the administration over the last several weeks to ensure that in many cases, your attestation of your domestic partnership is all that will be required, rather than a laundry list of legal and financial documents you may or may not have. Should you be required to provide documentation and not have any of the documents listed as options, talk to us - we can work with you and the administration to come up with alternatives…

Sick Bank Donation Launches

During the July 25 – August 25 special open enrollment, UVMSU employees will have an

opportunity to donate up to 40 hours accrued sick leave and unlimited PTO to a newly created Sick Leave Bank. [We have approved a donation form, it seems they still haven’t posted or shared it] The sick leave bank can be accessed by UVMSU employees who have exhausted their own accrued leave, but need additional time off due to injury to illness. We are working on convening the Sick Leave Bank Committee, which will determine the process for applying to use time and review applications. Stay tuned!
